Lucky Me: Part One

I have an amazing dad (and mom, but that’s a topic for another day!). The kind of dad that picks up my kids from school once a week and teaches them tennis. The kind of dad that sat with me for hours helping me with my math homework (some times to my annoyance). The kind of dad that genuinely cares about the well-being of each family member. The kind of dad that combed a Naples beach trying to reunite a wallet with its owner. Yesterday, that dad turned 69 (in a year when all of his grandkids will turn 6 or 9 – cool, right?).
I ignored his birthday all day, but the night before I got balloons and an ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery (partly for him). When he showed up at the house with my kids – after taking them to the playground – he was totally surprised. Or so he says. We went to Bangkok City – our favorite Thai restaurant. Then, we looked at photos from our weekend trip to Universal and had cake. And we took this ridiculous photo.
Boy, that Rene is one wild and crazy guy!
