The Next Federer

Well, in his own mind. For now, he’s busy racking up the “Player of the Day” awards at camp. And after much anticipation, he finally won the “Player of the Week” award last week. So that day, I had to take photos. He was just so excited. (Which is the perfect time to trick a kid into portraits – even if they only last 15 minutes.)

Ryan, we are SO PROUD of you and how hard you are working at camp! And a big thank you to Grandpa and Grandma for making tennis camp logistically possible – and enjoyable – for Ryan. We are very lucky to have you both!

Oh, and these are the first really edited shots I post on my blog (more than slight exposure or cropping adjustments). I’m kind of giving up on my “no editing” rule. This is partly what’s taking me so long to post some birthday pictures. That and sheer laziness. We had the best, lazy weekend – there was reading in bed during thunderstorms and watch of movies (“The Lightning Thief,” coincidentally). It was FANTASTIC, I must say. I hope yours was as good.

  • Grandpa

His coach has been a big part of it. He encourages all his group. How many balls he must hit to the children in a span of 3 hours and still be cheerful is good to see in a teenager.

We never have a problem to get Ryan to take a bath when he gets home. And how he needs it. Then he goes on a feeding frenzy – a healthy lunch, and a mandatory rest period. After that it’s fun activities, more snacks, “Grandpa, I’m hungry”. He’s been a pleasure to have around.

  • Federer is my husband’s hero. Go Ryan, you can be the next Federer!! I think your wb/exposure/midtones look awesome. Total KR shots 🙂

  • I am so in love with these photos.
