Easter Sunday 2011

Easter Sunday 2011. The Easter Bunny came early this year. I think he knew about early morning light being great for pictures. So, I had to wake the kids up early enough to beat the ants to the candy. In our house, early is 7:30.

Isabel decided that the Easter Bunny we got this year MUST have been a rookie, because the eggs were just too easy to find. Personally, I think the Easter Bunny didn’t want to brave the backyard with the dog. The kids got to find 24 eggs each, and then it was free for all. There were about 60 eggs total.

After hunting, we made chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, and eggs for breakfast. Later that morning, I broke out the photo booth (a shower curtain bar across the double door to our kitchen + a Target Easter table cloth + 3 pant hangers + 2 chairs).

That afternoon, we got a surprise visit from Dannibeth, who made the day so much more fun (our big plan was to watch The Empire Strikes Back). She helped us dye eggs. And find the Easter eggs that we hadn’t found earlier – guess the Bunny wasn’t a rookie after all. By the way, there was no fooling Isabel – she knew they weren’t there in the morning. Plus, these ones all had quarters in them. The morning ones were candy-filled. But that didn’t make her want to give them back to me!

Then, Dannibeth kicked off a super fun evening with bubbles. Why did I forget how fun that is? And since she was doing the hard work of making bubbles, I got to take pictures! In the process, I decided we need to cut down our coconut tree. It was seriously getting in my way. And to cap off the great visit, we played Guesstures, Isabel’s current favorite game.

Oh, and APPARENTLY, the Easter Bunny disposed of the candy bags in the kitchen’s garbage bin. And that was how Isabel figured out… that I helped the Easter Bunny this year.

Tel Isa it was nothing to lose her head over…

    • Well, I’m not sure exactly what she thinks, other than I helped. She said she won’t tell Ryan that I helped the Bunny.
